The 3rd edition of the Week of Russian cinema arrives in Mexico

This third edition is a sample of contemporary Russian cinema, organized by the Ministry of Culture of Russia, the Russian Embassy in Mexico and Cinépolis.

The cultural sphere has always been one of the most important in the relationship between Russia and Mexico, which celebrates its 129 anniversary this December. What better time to present again a contemporary film selection by the Russian Federation in Mexico City.

The third edition of the Russian Film Week in Mexico was inaugurated with the presence of the Russian Ambassador in Mexico, Sr. viktor Koronelli; Counselor of the Embassy, andrey Pakhomov; Secretary of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, Serguey Novozhilov; a delegation of actors and filmmakers, as well as compatriots and friends.

Russian Ambassador in Mexico, Sr. viktor Koronelli, welcomed the delegation of filmmakers, diplomats, and he gave a special greeting to Don Sergio Olhovich “who has done so much in the film sphere regarding our bilateral relationship”.

serguei Novozhilov, who has coordinated this Film Week since its first edition, He highlighted the variety of genera including sample, and the awards they have obtained some of the films.
“Our delegation is not large but representative: journalist, producer, actress and director Alejandra Shukova; from St. Petersburg, Timofey filmmaker Zhalnin; and actress and singer Polina Oldenburg, whose film Optional will close the Russian Film Week”.

Sergei Novozhilov was also producer of the film Curiosities, directed by Andrey Myshkin, and starring Liza Arzamasova and Maxim Kolozov, who visits Mexico for the second time within the framework of this festival.

The program includes 8 films, between them, a lively (Hoffmoniada, de Stanislav Sokolov, 2018), which will be shown at the Museo Casa Leon Trotsky, and a short film.
